Barnaby Dixon is a director, puppeteer and puppet maker. Starting out as a a stop-motion film-maker, he quickly found that online content required a faster turnaround, so developed his own dynamic hand puppets to speed up the process. Dixon’s unique designs feature in music videos, narrative pieces and demonstrations.
His work attracted the attention of The Henson Company and JJ Abrams, and in 2017/2018 he collaborated with both Henson’s and Bad Robot.
In late 2019 he was approached by Nicholas Hytner to design and build ‘Daemon’ puppets for a production based on Philip Pullman’s Book of Dust – La belle Sauvage. Covid intervened, but the show eventually opened in December 2021, running for three months to amazing reviews.
